Dylan Burton: The History of American Mathematics Prior to 1875
Peter Horn: Bi-Polar Plots

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1:

Our only activity this year was our induction ceremony. We had a cookout at Dr. Sutherland's house and inducted three new members. The most exciting aspect of the party was when Dr. Sutherland's son, who is about 8 or 9, decided to attack us all with a plastic sword.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

We have three graduating seniors attending graduate school in the fall. Jared Williams is heading to grad school in Finance, Carter Price is going into Applied Mathematics, and Dane Dormio is going into Pure Mathematics.

An upcoming senior, Peter Horn, received the Goldwater Scholarship earlier this semester.

Graduating Senior Jared Williams received the highest score in the Arkansas -Oklahoma region of the Mathematical Association of America on the Putnam Exam.
