Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

As a joint activity, PME and Math Club members attended the Miami University Mathematics and Statistics Conference, Oxford, Ohio, October 4-5, 2003. One PME member presented a talk at this conference.

The Spring 2003 initiation was held in conjunction with a talk by Robert Powers, Ph.D., entitled "A Series of Series."

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Elisha Feger has received a fellowship to the University of Tennessee where he will pursue a Ph.D. in physics.
Huy Nuygen presented a talk, "Introduction to Halftoning and an Alternate Approach to Creating Spot Functions" at the October 4-5, 2003, Miami University Mathematics and Statistics Conference.
