Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

No.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1:

In April, the annual Mathematics Awareness Week was held and several graduating seniors and members of Pi Mu Epsilon presented their senior talks. The talks varied in content from the chirality of knots, to exercises in data mining, to computations with the Riemann Zeta function, among other things.

2:

In February, two members of the N.J. Lambda chapter together with a William Paterson Computer Science major and participated in the annual COMAP (Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications) competition.

Two graduating seniors also did independent studies in the Spring Semester. Thomas McGuire studied measure theory with assisting professor Dr. Melkamu Zeleke and Kevin Glaser studied data mining and linear regression on SAS with assisting professor Dr. Wooi Lim.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Other than Tom McGuire, who is planning on attending graduate school in the spring of 04 at NJIT, most of the graduates are looking for teaching positions in Northern N.J. high schools.
