Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

Yes.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

This year, Miami University's Ohio Delta chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon had an extremely successful year. Membership remains strong with the induction of 29 new members. There were a total of eight meetings, with an average attendance of 32 people per meeting. Part of the chapter's success might be due to the pizza, veggies, and soda that are served at every meeting, but most of the success should be attributed to the high-quality speakers and the variety of the chapte's activities. Members and non-members alike were privileged to attend a kick-off picnic in the fall as well as a variety of talks on topics such as modeling cancer growth, using technology to explore iterative processes, and mathematics and statistics job opportunities. These talks were given by mathematics and statistics faculty as well as current business leaders. In addition, the chapter also held a mathematics movie night and a mathematics game night, both of which were so well received that they are to become annual traditions for the chapter.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

In the 2002-2003 academic year, five of our chapter members gave talks at regional Pi Mu Epsilon or MAA meetings.
