Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1:

Induction was held at the spring banquet, a joint event Department of Mathematics. The Banquet dinner was attended by approximately 45 people, followd by departmetnal awards and the Pi Mu Epsilon induction ceremony. This was followed by an invited address by Professor Joe Galian. Prof. Gallian provided an address on Breaking Drivers' License Codes.

2:

Students organized a picnic attended by students and faculty of the Mathematics and Physics departments.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Lindsay Bleem recieved the prestigious Goldwater Fellowship.
 
Matthew Bucklew was recognized with distinction on the Senior Exercise in Mathematics.
 
Amy Wagaman completed an honors project in Mathematics recieving High Honors. Amy also presented a poster, "Extending Rank-Based Test Procedures for Interaction to a General Two-Way Layout" at the Council on Undergraduate Research: Undergraduate Research Posters on the Hill event. Amy also has a paper entitled, "Classification of Turtle Sequences - An Algebraic/Combinatoric Approach", written jointly with Professor Judy Holdener accepted for publication in the International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences.
