Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
1:
A group of faculty and students attended the play "The Proof" at the Cleveland Playhouse.
2:
Dr. Tom Farmer of Miami University delivered a talk entitled "Designing a Calculus Mobile" and discussed graduate programs in mathematics and statistics at Miami University.
Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :
Ten of our students presented talks at the MAA Ohio Section Spring meeting at Ohio State University while another student gave a talk at the Fall Pi Mu Epsilon Regional Conference at Youngstown State University. Two of our seniors, Andy Anschutz and Marie Burtch, recently completed Senior Honors Thesis projects in mathematics and will be graduating from the Honors Program. Junior Paul Carmany will be attending an REU this summer at Central Michigan University.
