Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

No.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1:

The most interesting activity was the annual Moravian Undergraduate Math Conference on February 15th, which is sponsored by Pi Mu Epsilon. The conference began with an invited address by Dr. V. Frederick Rickey entitled "Cantor's Leap from Calculus to Set Theory." There were about 150 participants, representing about 30 different institutions. There were twenty student talks at the conference, including one by the Pi Mu Epsilon president, Aaron Buckner, on using differential equations in physics. Other Moravian students attended and helped to run the conference.

2:

A second activity was a Math Awareness month celebration open to the campus. The students organized and advertised a make-your-own sundae bar for math awareness month.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Melissa Graeff, inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon this year, was awarded the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America Actuarial Award, for a student who has expressed an interest in and made progress toward a career in actuarial science. Julie Jones (02) was the president of Pi Mu Epsilon last year, and is now a graduate student in chemistry at Princeton University.
