Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
1:
In April we have a banquet to induct our new members and to award math scholarships for the year.(http://www.usd.edu/~dpeursem/banquet/)
2:
In the spring our chapter joins forces with the math club to challenge the math faculty for a game of softball and a grill-out following the game. This year the game was cancelled due to weather but the grill-out did proceed.
Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :
Amber Bartel is going to dental school in Minnesota. Andrea Fullerton is going to medical school here at USD. Kristen Kirsch presented a paper at our undergraduate Math on the Northern Plains conference in March.(http://www.usd.edu/~dpeursem/conference/)
