Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Boulder, Colorado?

Yes.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1:

Dr. Jim Daniels, the director of the Actuarial Studies Program at the University of Texas, gave a talk "Actuaries and actuarial mathematics---what are they?" The talk was well attended by our club members and math majors, but there were also quite a few business majors in attendance.

2:

We had 5 alumni and someone from career services speak at "Math Futures." The alumni ranged in time out of college from 1 year to 40 years. The students found all the infomation very helpful.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

4 students attended, and 3 students presented papers at the Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics.
Last summer 4 students presented papers at Mathfest.
1 student presented a paper at the TX MAA meeting.
4 students presented papers at our local fall SU Math/CS Research Symposium that was co-sponsonsored by PME.
1 student presented a paper at the spring SU Research and Creative Works Symposium.
