Yes, Matt Smith is planning to attend and present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Providence Rhode Island.
Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
This year we hosted our first annual calculus competition. It was a great success! We recruited participants from accross the sciences to take part in the contest.
To celebrate the contest winners and to induct our new PME members we organized a very nice banquet. The banquet included a key note address on mathematics and music, the announcement of the contest winners, the induction ceremony for new PME members, and a slide show with pictures of all the activities organinzed by our chapter.
