Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Providence, Rhode Island?

Four students presented in Providence.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

On February 21, 2004, our PME chapter hosted a regional PME conference at our university for undergraduate students both from our university and neighboring universities. Breakfast and lunch were provided for those who attended, and many undergraduates presented their research.

On April 24, the mathematics department and PME hosted the annual spring formal dinner dance. Approximately 80 mathematics students and professors came to acknowledge both students' and professors' accomplishments for the year as well as have a very enjoyable evening.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Our 2003-2004 president, Stephen Stanislav, is attending graduaduate school in Statistics at North Carolina State University.

A 2002 graduate, Tom Wakefield, passed his qualifying exams in the PhD program at Kent State University.
