Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Providence, Rhode Island?

Rachel Riberich is tentatively planning to present her research on dirichlet-multinomial statistical modeling at the PME meeting in Providence.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) The PME Christmas choir concert! We sing Christmas carols (with lyrics changed to be quite mathematical) acapella for the faculty in our department. Lots of fun!

2) The PME induction banquet in April, where we saw the largest incomming class (12 students!) in the history of our chapter.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Mark Gillis, Duquesne class of 2004, earned a full scholarship to attend graduate school in Economics at West Virginia University.
