Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Our annual induction ceremony featured a talk entitled, "Graph Theory on aSunday Afternoon" by Dr. Rehana Patel

Coordination of review sessions for the senior Comprehensive Exam inmathematics was especially successful

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Rita Schneider and Colleen Sweeney were inducted into Sigma Xi, the science honor society.  Rita Schneider will be entering the Ph.D program in Physics at the College of William and Mary with a Teaching Assistantship; Colleen Sweeney is beginning an MA degree in mathematics at Boston College with a Teaching Assistantship.

Erin Daly received the College of Arts and Sciences Award in Science; Erin Daly, Liana Martuccio, Kimberly Carabetta, Tam Chuong, Ryan Jessell, Rita Schneider, and Colleen Sweeney were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  The Arthur F. Dershowitz Award in Mathemtics was awarded to Colleen Sweeney.  Liana Martuccio, Ryan Jessell and Colleen Sweeney shared the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics and Liana Martuccio also received the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Computer Science
