Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Albuquerque, New Mexico?

None. But two tried to get their own results in order to go.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

We brought back a recent graduate for a talk on his progress in actuarial mathematics. Paul was a bit of a slacker in college, never one to get too dressed up. But when he showed up in a suit and gave a polished presentation, it made a huge impression on the students who remembered him.

We had the benefit of 3/14 landing on a school day this year, so we had a Pi making party the night before and sold the pies at lunch. We had the best time making posters. On some we wrote "FREE THEOREM" and constructed a theorem, adding, "Pies 50 cents" in smaller letters.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Jenn Koran got a free ride for grad school in stats at University of Maryland. Valerie Kunde won a state-wide competitive scholarship competition for future math teachers. Jessica Nelson, Angela Prokop and Kelly Hutchins all went to grad school at University of Michigan for Biostatistics and are doing fine.
