No response.

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

The 2004-2005 year has been an active one for the N.J. Lambda chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon. In April, the annual Mathematics Awareness Week was held and several graduating seniors and members of Pi Mu Epsilon presented their senior talks. The talks varied in content from computerized tomography and medical imaging to complex integration and phase plane analysis. They highlight the mathematical talents which are being fostered in our department. Also during that week, nine new members were inducted into the chapter. In addition, our chapter joined in activities for celebrating Sonia Kovalevsky Day.

Numerous other activities also took place. Among them were several community service oriented projects, including a candy and bake sale resulting in a donated gift certificate for Thanksgiving baskets. Plans for future activities include setting up a date for a blood drive, helping out with the program Big Brother/Big Sister to the SGA fundraiser. In addition various social activities were also held, sponsoring an active, academic and social community.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

No response.
