Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

In conjunction with Mathematics Awareness Week and our department's annual Awards Day, we had a colloquium address entitled "Collaboration Among Mathematicians: Some Personal Anecdotes" by Dr. Farshid Hajir(University of Massachusetts).

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Knoxville, Tennessee?

No.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Adam Gamzon, elected as a junior in 2005, will be attending graduate school at the University of Massachusetts.

Doug Snyder, also elected in 2005 (Since he has a large number of credits but hasn't yet graduated, I hesititate to attribute a semester standing to him.) participated in the first ever REU program at UConn in Summer 2005.

David Ferrone and Ji Young Ha, elected in 2006, will be attending graduate school at the University of Connecticut.
