Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

For our Induction Ceremony we had two speakers who excited the audience with amazing stories about Mayan Mathematics, (information which they had gathered on a study tour to ancient mayan sites).

Several of our students attended mathematical talks this year including an entertaining talk (Norman Johnson Lecture) by Ron Graham at nearby Wheaton College.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Knoxville, Tennessee?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Jason Tower, a student inducted this year, won an Adrian Tinsley Summer Grant to work on graphing the shape of self-intersecting wave-fronts emanating from black holes.
