Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Pie Day Celebration--We had a pie eating contest and gave out free pie on our main quad for two hours. We also had a math trivia contest with prizes, and we gave out Pi Day tattoos! (Sold by Pepperdine's math department)

Weekly Game Nights--the types of games played varied every week. We had poker, bridge, Magic, yahtzee, monopoly, chess, and various other games as the main themes of different weeks.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Knoxville, Tennessee?

Not that I know of but I will survey the chapter in early June.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

John Foley (originally inducted at Appalachian State University) won the Wake Forest Outstanding Master's student award. He will be attending UC San Diego's PhD program in the fall. He has presented talks at several conferences and currently has 7 accepted or published papers.
