Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

The Texas Omicron Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon offers tutoring sessions on Saturdays at the university center, here at UTSA.

The President of the Parent Teacher Organization of one of the local elemantary schools wants to form a mathclub for the little ones. We are looking forward for this partnership with local schools.

Check out our T-shirts at our website: http://math.utsa.edu/~mathclub

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Knoxville, Tennessee?

No.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

USAA Usually comes and recruits students from our school. One of our members recently accepted a position with USAA(Andrew Covey). Three other members have accepted jobs in industry (Stephanie Deacon, Crystal Hull and Yukun Fung). Another member went to graduate school(Jennifer Guajardo) and one other member became a high school teacher (Sally Kelly). Currently (Fall 2006) one member is doing her student teaching(Sally Kelly). One last member did her student teacher last semester (Spring 2006), and I believe she is now teaching (Tina Vega).
