Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) Department Open House -- We had a guest speaker Prof James Dudziak who spoke on Archimedean Solids and then enjoyed dinner with faculty and students.

2) A visiting faculty member Fozia Qazi gave a lecture "Back to the Future--Time Travels of the Decimal Number System." This was preceded by a pizza dinner.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

No.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Rising juniors Courtney Parry and Theresa Klinkhammer were awarded Clare Booth Luce Scholarships.

Erin Condon will be starting graduate school in the fall. She hopes to earn her Ph.D. in statistics.

Meghan Honerlaw will be attending graduate school in the fall. She is working towards a masters in statistics.

Double majors Katie White and Megan Boyle will be attending doctoral programs in chemistry in the fall. They presented a paper at the Joint Math Meeetings in January.

Meghan McFadden will begin a master's in teaching program.

Zanna Afansjeva will begin pharmacy school in the fall.
