Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) We hosted the ninth annual YSU PME Regional Conference where undergraduate mathematics majors presented mathematical talks. Over 85 students from 12 different colleges and universities attended.

2) Five students of our students received Best Speaker Awards at Mathfest in Knoxville, Tennessee. Those students were: Tara Cruickshank, Tyler Drombosky, Nick Gemuenden, David Gohlke, and David Martin.

3) PME members participated in the opening ceremony of the Center of Undergraduate Research in Mathematics (CUR Math), founded by Dr. J. Douglas Faires. PME members had the opportunity to meet with alumni and to present mathematical posters at the ceremony.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Yes, we plan to bring 14 students.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :
