Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

1) Math Forum: students presented information on the math major and minor and information on careers, graduate school, conferences, websites, etc.. to prospective majors. They made an excellent power point presentation that we will use in the future.

2)Mark McClure of UNC Asheville was our initiation ceremony speaker, he presented a talk titled "Fractal Google Maps"

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in San Jose, California?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Liza Lawson presented her research at the Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women and at the James Madison U. undergraduate conference.She will join Teach for America after graduation. Christina Lee will attend graduate school at George Wahington U. Kenny Stauffer did an REU at Clemsonlast summer. He will attend graduate school at Johns Hopkins or Carnegie Mellon next year.
