Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

In April, we had our 9th annual Math Film Festival. We worked hard to make it a great event. The main attraction in the evening was a new, feature-length animated version of the classical novel Flatland, which was created by independent film maker Ladd P. Ehlinger, Jr., who directed, animated and edited the entire film personally. We also had a special treat: the three-minute film The Math Geek, produced by Laura Williams and starring Nick Paterno, both math majors. The only disappointment was the low attendance. Next year, we will have to do a better job advertising. Other fun events included our Gambling Day in November, and the (not-so-unusual) Pi Day fund raiser selling, guess what, pies.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Madison, Wisconsin?

No.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

No.
