Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:
Our last regular meeting of the year/new officer election featured Scott Ahlgren, who gave a very interesting and well-done talk on congruent numbers at a level approachable by our undergraduate membership, and--interestingly enough--it involved analytic number theory, so it was surprising it went over so well. Our joint talk with MATRIX--the school's social math club--was a first for us, and we hope to continue hosting and collaborating further with them.
Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the 2009 PME national meeting at MathFest in Portland, Oregon?
We do not at this time.
