Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Several of our members particiapted in the following competitions: The Virginia Tech regional mathematics competition. The Putnam Exam, a national mathematics competition. An integration bee, sponsored by the regional section of the Mathematical Association of America. A team math contest, also sponsored by the regional section of the Mathematical Association of America.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the 2009 PME national meeting at MathFest in Portland, Oregon?
