Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Our chapter co-sponsored and organized the first annual Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium Saturday, May 9 at OSU. There were 33 attendees representing EOU, OSU, Pacific, Willamette and WOU, including 17 speakers filling two parallel sessions. Our chapter also sponsored and helped organize a weekly problem solving competition for all OSU students with problems posted on our Math Club website. The student that solved the most problems this year will be representing OSU in the National Problem Solving Championship at MathFest in Portland this summer.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the 2009 PME national meeting at MathFest in Portland, Oregon?

We will have one student speaker participating in the PME Paper Session this year. We intend to rent a van in order to take members and other math students to the conference.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates, for example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences?

No.

If you were awarded a PME Lectureship, Conference, or Prize Grant within the past year, please briefly describe the results.

We were awarded both a conference grant and a prize grant, the results of which were described in the activities portion of this form.
