Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Three chapter members participated in an integration bee and a team math contest, sponsored by the regional section of the Mathematical Association of America at the MS/LA meeting in Hammond, Louisiana. Two chapter members attended the Hendrix-Rhodes-Sewanee Mathematics Symposium in Memphis, Tennessee.

Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the 2009 PME national meeting at MathFest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates, for example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences?

President Jaclyn Fletcher was accepted to Mississippi State University to pursue a Master's Degree in Mathematics and was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Member Kate Griener was accepted to Louisiana State University to pursue a Doctorate in Geology. Member Taryn Green will be attending University of Mississippi Graduate School in Pathology. Recent graduate Kevan Beth Tucker was accepted to Medical School.
