Do any of your chapter members plan to attend or present a paper at the PME national meeting at MathFest in Albuquerque, New Mexico?

Describe the two most interesting or unusual chapter activities this year:

Two of our members participated in the sectional MAA (Mathematical Association of America) meeting held on our campus in April.  They both presented papers at the conference and attended a student workshop. We had a speaker come and present a talk called "An Application of Cryptography to playing poker over the phone."

One other speaker came and presented a talk on a unique graduate program at the University of Tulsa.

Do you have any news about current students or recent graduates? For example, scholarships or other awards, acceptances to graduate school, paper presentations at conferences. :

Two of our members attended a conference at Cameron University, and these same members also made a poster presentation at the University of Central Oklahoma on research they had done with a faculty member in our department.  These two students will continue taking classes here through the summer, but will begin graduate school at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in the fall.

One of our members was one of the top 5 finalists for the very prestigious "Nigh Award" given to the top graduating senior on our campus each year.
